Dumb SEO Questions

How can I structure the product title?

My Google Fu is running low at the moment. I am looking for some ideas what should go into product titles for a WooCommerce store.
The store is selling custom widgets exclusively. The customizing is done by certain artists, who are well known by the collectors of custom widgets. The widgets are made of specific materials, have various optional parts and certain embellishments.
How can I structure the product title? Something like this:
"artist name" + "custom widget" + list of parts, materials, embellishments | Store NameQuestions:
Should I attach the store name? to the page title?
Every single title contains "custom widget" and is redundant, but the random visitor doesn`t know that we are selling widgets
Should I have product-ID`s / SKU`s in the title?

  • Michael Martinez: I think you should keep the titles short.

There are several regular members of this group who have extensive ecommerce experience and I`m surprised none of them have jumped in.

The thing about promoting specialists like artists (and I have worked a couple of sites that did something like this in the past) is that you need to optimize for their brand value.

If you can help build their brand value that`s even better. You want people who are searching for these artists to find your pages.

Leave the details for further down in the page. That information will still be found in search.

Hopefully a few other people will be able to comment. I`m sure Jim will have this question on the weekly video list.
  • E Dieter Martin: Thank you. Of course it`s also the plan to have an "About Artist X" page. Some bio and the items on sale linked both ways.
  • Tim Capper: Your Artist should be a category - their custom widgets would be the product in that category

All your list of parts and embellishments would be added in product details - you could also create a sub category for embellishments or product tags

    Artist category
Boby Brown Custom Widgets - Buy Direct - ABC Widgets

    Actual Product
Pink Diamond Widget - Boby Brown Custom Widget - ABC Widgets

Something like that - but I am not an Ecomm specialist
