How much content on the page should be?

When trying to rank for multiple location pages service + location how much content on the page should be static vs dynamic. I thought that just dynamically replacing the location information is not enough to rank, and there should be more unique content on each page?Is this true?

  • Himanshu: You can add location based Intro, testimonials, services, way to reach, team, images, map, etc to make it unique.

  • Mark Seah: im not seo expert, but i would work hard on optimising every single detail in google my business, be it pictures, posts, reviews etc.

  • Michael Martinez: The more unique the page`s content, the easier it is to optimize that page for specific goals.

Some sites change only key names (the keyword targets) in a processing called "madlibbing" and that violates search engine guidelines.

So you want to avoid writing 1 block of content that describe everything and then just changing the location names for each service page. The less duplicate text you put on your pages the better, because if they look too similar the search engines will either pick one page to show in place of the others or demote the site for publishing doorway pages.

  • Tim Capper: Boilerplate still works in low competition cities BUT I would always push for unique content on page - area, team, specific products - project (work undertaken) in area.
