Gun and Camera - Everything Infrared: Is it bad when I "fetch and render" my homepage on GWT and I return a "Partial" status rather then Complete?
Thanks!
Christopher
Blade S: Sometimes it's bad, sometimes it's not bad. Depends what you're blocking in robots.txt. Make sure you don't block Java and CSS.
"Partial" means you are blocking stuff in robots.txt. Click on "Partial" to see more details, then click on "robots.txt Tester" to see the robots command that is blocking something.
After you remove the line(s) from robots.txt, make sure you update the robots.txt in GWT: Crawl -> robots.txt Tester -> Submit (bottom-right corner) -> Press the Submit button at number 3.
Also check fetch and render for mobile, if your site is optimized for mobiles.

Gun and Camera - Everything Infrared: I checked what was causing it only to be Partial, and it was the sumome.com/API/load. So I deactivated the plugin and now it renders Complete. I am wanting to use that plugin though an they say they looking into fixing that. But I guess for now I will have to use another social sharing plugin, any suggestions on which plugin might be best?
Blade S: +Christopher Hale In my opinion, the best free ones are AddThis and Shareaholic.
I prefer Shareaholic because it has some nice and useful extra features:
- It let's you add your Twitter handle, so when someone tweets your post/page, "via @yourhandle" appears; - It shortens your URLs; - After someone shares your post/page, a pop-up appears with your desired 'Thank You' message, along with whatever social follow buttons you want, so the users can also go and visit your social media pages.
Don't know if AddThis implemented such features as well... haven't use it for a while.
If you install Shareaholic, make sure you disable ads and affiliate links, although I think now they are disabled by default (they weren't in the past).
