Does anyone have experience of reverse proxy for Wordpress?

Hi Everyone

After some insight please to maintain SEO

Recently had a recommendation to move and separate a high traffic/high ranking eCommerce site`s wordpress blog onto WPEngine. Recommended in an audit as a security measure. Maintaining blog URL and wordpress permalinks under domainname.com/blog with a reverse proxy.

However, last minute change and the images are going to be under blog.domainname.com

To avoid duplicate content have this in robots, txt for blog.domainname.com but still want those images indexing which previously not on a subdomain
