Do embedded videos help with SEO?

  miksmusic: Hi all, I'm a musician and composer running my own music licensing web shop. I tend to embed videos in my blog posts and product pages where I feel it's helpful for the user. I wonder, however, does it help with SEO in any way? The videos are not self-hosted, all embedded from youtube. Thanks!

  Greg Kristan: I would also recommend checking out Wistia for your video hosting. That way in search results the video would be hosted on your site and not YouTube.
