Content Strategy: Is it better to create the content from the bottom up or from the the top down?

Website Buildout and SEO
Another newbie question for this excellent community: I recently launched a new website - madcitydreamhomes dot com - and it`s off to a good start. I`m adding real estate guides that include a high level summary page with links to more pages that cover real estate at a more local level. For example a summary page about Madison area condos with a table of contents that links to pages about condos in different parts of Madison (east side, west side, etc). From an SEO standpoint is it better to create the content from the bottom up or from the the top down? "Madison condos" is my most important search term, so would it be best to create my content from the top down? In other words create my high level "Guide to Madison Condos" followed by my "Guide to Madison West Side Condos", "Guide to Madison East Side Condos", and so on? Thanks to all of you who share your expertise.

  • Al Remetch: I'd total optimize isolated pages for each search term within the most logical structure.
  • Ranu Jain: Yeah, even I would suggest to create separate pages for all of them and give a link from the main page i.e. ;Guide to Madison Condos.

    This way you will have dedicated pages for all the keywords related to "Madison Condos", "Madison West Side Condos", "Madison East Side Condos".

    It will help in targeting right set of keywords on relevant pages and will contribute in ranking also. ;
  • Randy Smith: Very nice site so far. Try emphasizing Madison a little more and your company name a little less. You want to rank for what people are looking for, and if they are searching Mad Town, they likely either already know your business, or are looking for something else.

    You should add alt text to your images, and make to include relevant keywords. ;

    The tool I used to check also couldn't detect your robot.txt but that sometimes is a false positive.  ;Also, get yourself listed in
