Canonical back to product page

If we have an e-commerce site that has multiple filters for a product (IE: Red, Yellow, etc.) should we do noindex, nofollow on said filters or index and point canonicals to main page for that product.

  • Gregory Dantschotter: If the filters are relevant, they have a separate url without parameters and people search for them, I would index them. But only when 1 filter is enabled. If multiple filters are enabled, I would canonicalize them. Don`t use noindex. You won`t pass link value to the main/important page
