Back office URLs are still showing

I have completely shut down an old website and used the same web provider for my new website, with the same URL (mainly because my ex- business partners name is located in the original URL and mine is misspelled). Does anyone know why the back office URL`s are still showing? Any help on understanding this would be AWESOME!

  • Neeraj Pandey: Can u explain something like old URL and new URL? What I know is that if the content is same google may understand that this is the same website with new URL can u no index old URLs ?
  • Ashwini Kumar: Mail me your issue in detail. [email protected]
  • Suraj Gadage: +Audrey Abuan ;If I have understood your question correctly, you had an old domain and have changed it to new one because of a spelling mistake in the old domain. However, now your old domain URLs are surfacing in search results instead of new one. Correct?

    Presuming this is the case, you should ensure that you have a domain level 301 redirect in place or URL level 301 redirect in place (if there are changes in the URL structure of the new website). Also, let Google/Bing know about the website change using site-move tool.

    Hope this helps!
  • Audrey Abuan: Thank you for responding. I did not explain my issue clearly. My live Domain URL with the issue is http://listings-in-edmonton.com/homes-for-sale-in-beaumont.html. My new back office is http://private-office.myrealpage.com/w/w=audrey-abuan1.myrealpagewebsite.com/homes-for-sale-in-beaumont.html and my old back office is ; http://listings-in-edmonton.com/w=mikemuranetzandaudreyabuam.myrealpagewebsite.com/homes-for-sale-in-beaumont.html/SearchResults.form?lvs=short. It s the old website's back office that has been shut down months ago. I don't understand why this is a live page??
  • Suraj Gadage: +Audrey Abuan ;your website is powered by myrealpage dot com CMS, you need to contact them to get this resolved. ;
  • Audrey Abuan: Thanks for replying Suraj. I've already contacted myrealpage (they have to send it to there "tech guys"). But I would like to know "WHY" the URL with the old backoffice domain is still showing live. Any idea?
  • Suraj Gadage: +Audrey Abuan ;in general if you de-activate a hosting service/account if should delete all the files hosted. But sometimes due to technical loopholes these kind of issues arise.
  • Neeraj Pandey: +Audrey Abuan sudden removal of the files blocking by robots.text or serving 500 response is not solution basically you have moved your website so ideally there should be 301 redirect. If you can't use this you should use canonical tag with same content and if you have suddenly stopped old website search engine is showing that website from its own cache and it will take some more time to remove old one the only imp thing is you keep adding quality in new website
