How do we feel about "mega domains" and impact on search, crawling, etc. I am not for them honestly - ie: brandsite.com vs. brandparentcompany.com/brandsite/

Michael Martinez: I`ve done it both ways. Either approach has its strengths and weaknesses. The organizational decision-making can be the worst part of the deal. Even when I ran my own megasite with a volunteer staff of 30 or so people, getting things done could take a while. I was "the boss" but I had to make sure everyone was happy, they knew what was going to happen to the site, etc. I kind of like the standalone brandsite approach now.
