  Roy ODK: Our server admin put a 302 from http:// to https:// on our homepage by accident. However from that moment on our organic traffic shoots up high. At the same time Paid traffic drops. Possibly due to links going wrong because of the redirect.
  I am particularly interested in why all of a sudden the organic traffic is booming. Any thoughts anyone?

  Krishna Reddy: Something might have gone wrong with Organic traffic as well. Unless you post the domain which is affected by this move it will be tough to give a better explanation

  Federico Sasso: That's because the redirect apparently strips away the tracking tags used to identify PPC traffic.
  In case it were - say - AdWords, it would add a gclid parameter to the querystring URL (in case you were using the default autotagging). If that's stripped out, Analytics would just see it's traffic coming from Google and assume it is organic traffic.
  I stongly suggest fixing it asap, as this way you have no way to asses PPC return of investment (among other things)
