Courtney Gwynn: We had a bounce rate around 99% at one point. I dug into it and discovered we had a bot problem. Bots were frequenting our site, driving our traffic up, but also our bounce rate and lowering our time on site to like 1 second.
To fix it, we did a few things. We installed a Blackhole for Bad Bots plug-in (wordepress site). That helped a lot.
You can also run a link audit on SEMRush to see if your site is being listed on spammy sites.
If it isn’t a spam problem, you need to optimize your site to not only provide high quality content that’s relevant to the keywords you’re targeting, but also one that invites users to click somewhere else on the site rather than leave. Every page should have a CTA and internal linking.

John Vincent Aquino: Other than the design of the site and load up speed, another one to focus is the content. Either you don`t have interesting content, or you are targeting the wrong keywords. Check the page session, check what keywords drove those traffic.
