Is it a good idea to write articles in two different languages on your website?

Can someone help me with some advice? It is a good idea to write articles in two different languages on your website?I initially started to write my website in English, but then I realized I had less competition in my language (Romanian). I have a translating plug-in. But I want to use Romanian keywords that I know it may place my website further on top searches.I`m so used to write in English, it may be challenging in terms of how Yoast Seo will be like- is there any setting where you change the language? #keywords in romanian are fairly simple and I have a feeling will help me more in terms of competition, ranking, etc. Thanks.

  • Ștefan ProhniÈ›chi: HI Stephanie Jolie There`s no issue with using multiple languages on your blog. You may even know this example from the SEO industry. Just make sure to use PolyLang (or something similar) and don`t forget to have hreflang set properly.

  • Stephanie Jolie: Ștefan ProhniÈ›chi new word alert: hreflang?

I have a multiple language plug in (don`t remember the name) but would it be weird if I start writing in Romanian 1 article but the rest of them are in English?

I guess when you select the language, it will translate only that page that is in a different language? You know what I mean?

Headline studio does not work in Romanian. Will yoast work as good as in English?

  • Ștefan ProhniÈ›chi: Stephanie Jolie This article is technical, but it should explain the purpose of hreflang - https://ahrefs.com/blog/hreflang-tags/

You have to start somewhere anyway. If I understand it right, in the end you`ll want to have all articles available in both languages.

I`m not exactly sure what you mean. By picking the language you should see the content that is available in that language.

I don`t know, as I didn`t work with Romanian content.

  • Stephanie Jolie: Ștefan ProhniÈ›chi well I have something similar on my website, I wanted something like if your IP is romanian you are redirected in romanian language without selecting anything. ( how do do that? ) I just want to start writing my content in romanian from now on, that is why I am confused

If you see my page, left side below, you can select romanian +++ other languages, https://skineducation.eu (am I allowed to do this? )

I just think I may do better for the niche I cover.

I read an article about hreflang on weglot, but I will have a look on ahrefs and hubspot as well.

Thanks for the insights, super helpful

  • Ștefan ProhniÈ›chi: Stephanie Jolie Yes, there are ways to show content based on the IP of the user, but I didn`t work with those plugins.

I tried to click on a few languages, and nothing changed. Also, if I understand right, this plugin just translates the content that is on the page? This will not help with ranking for keywords in other languages.

You are welcome. Wish you a productive weekend.
