YOUR ANSWERS

Selected answers from the Dumb SEO Questions Facebook & G+ community.

  • Jeremy L. Knauff: I wouldn`t necessarily avoid them, but minimize the chance of it being viewed as spam by only using your company name as anchor text.
  • Neil Cheesman: With disavow is the correct syntax for a sub-domain" domain:blogspot.co..." had to remove the coc.uk as it came up with an actual domain - assuming not wishing to disavow whole of blogspot
  • Alan Bleiweiss: Jeremy is correct. Blogroll links are, at this point, discounted entirely for the most part. However the algorithmic system is imperfect, and even in the case of "mostly discounted", if they are abusive in other ways, such as obnoxious exact match anchor text, they are not purely discounted. If you are not intentionally requesting this, it`s still important to monitor inbound links on a regular basis, and update disavow files as needed, else you may end up manually penalized.
