The reason they`re outranking us

Hi! So there`s this site that`s outranking mine for like all of our target keywords. Their backlink profile and DA are nonexistent, there`s hardly any content on the page, their header tags are a mess, and their site speed is poor. Also, they`re not very old, the site was built in 2019. What else could I look at that could tell me what reason they`re outranking us and how to emulate? Thanks for any ideas in advance!

  • Shihab Nymur: Mohamed F. d`Abdalla Anytime.
  • Perry Bernard: Why do you use a trailing slash in the last two pages? “Do, or do not”
  • Shihab Nymur: It`s fine, no issues here. The last two URLs are canonicalized to the first one.

  • Shihab Nymur: Mohamed F. d`Abdalla as they are canonicalized they won`t affect in ranking but if you are really worried about crawl stats and budget then you can consider blocking the strings via robots.txt.

  • Joseph Raymond: How much they`re paying google. Stuff like this only proves their algorithms don`t work as they claim. Anyone who tells you different is mearly speculating. Been dealing with this issue for 2 years now. Even worse my domain name is directly tied to "ke… See more
  • Brett Nelson: it`s a pretty small marketing agency though, how would they have a relationship with google?
  • Joseph Raymond: They really don`t. The point I`m making is when it comes to SEO no one really knows. As an example. Google stated it no longer provides weight to keywords. Yet SEO people will still use them. Google is looking for recent relevant information based on a subject that no one can figure out what that subject is pertain to your site other than google. You could be selling plumbing supplies yet list for something totally unrelated to plumbing and no list for actual plumbing things. This is what the big referral companies like angis and Yelp have figured out. So they drop tons of cash to google to list for topics pertaining to a service industry. Not possible for angis to seo every page for every service offered. So they purchase the listing. Backlinks etc dont matter. You know anyone linking back to angi, yelp or thumbtack other then asking for a review? That one backlink is the magic backlink to get you listed? I think not. The only thing i can figure as to why, again is pay to play. If your company was named middletownmarking.com you would think a simple search of marking in middletown or any variation of the phase would list you 1st or within the top 3. But you dont and wont because angi has paid for those spots. Goog will never admit it though. Google results have gone from providing a list based on keyword relevance to paid listings per key phase. This is why the results will list the 1st 3 to 5 sites as "sponsored" then the real result based on seo then sponsored again and finally real results. But again just my opinion on doing this since 2004. I can`t like everyone else give you 100% yes.
  • Rick Crandall: Would you be willing to put a link to both your site and the other site so that I can take a look?
