Bill Slawski: You ideally should have pagination markup on all of the pages in that series. The canonical link element should point to the view-all page. Sorry, I was updating my answer, because I missed the "view-all" in the question the first time I answered it.
The page you point at from Google probably should say pagination likely isn`t necessary, unless you might want individual component pages to possible show up as a search result. Otherwise, if the canonicals all point to the view all page, the pagination markup likely isn`t needed.
