Re-directing two pages to the same page

Might be a dumb question but are there any repercussions for re-directing two pages to the same page? reason i`m asking is because on my old site static html website, i had /gloves.htm/ and /golf-gloves.htm/ which were both the same page. now, after i moved to wordpress, the page became /golf-gloves/. so i placed a 301 re-direct to /golf-gloves/ on both /gloves.htm/ and /golf-gloves.htm/ . in this situation, would this be the correct practice? thank you.
