Dumb SEO Questions

Is this normal?

Hi All, I recently published new content to my site and submitted it to GSC for indexing. The next day, it comes up as indexed and shows on the SERP when I do a site:xxxxxxxxxxxxx + KW search for that article. All good. But when I check again a few days later using the same method, it`s gone from the SERP! But still says indexed in GSC. Is this normal? Should I just wait for it to come back or should I be concerned and take some kind of action? Thanks for any replies!

  • Chris Boggs: is the site also "gone" when you remove the + kw portion of the query? Did you using site:just the site domain no http or www etc and see if maybe there is a www vs non-www thing? Did you also try searching the article / page headline with the brand name in the query?
  • Steve Brown: Thanks for replying. No, other posts from the site appear. Just not the just published ones that appeared the other day. www or no www and HTTP / https makes no difference. Tried searching for the article using the title + sitename but no sign of it. But GSC says the page is "on Google", indexed and my site has been declared canonical.
  • Chris Boggs: (IMO of course) if the others appear give it a few days. But if it doesn`t get indexed look for it in one of the non-indexed buckets in GSC in a couple weeks. Is the content #helpful?
