I have a question about appearance in search results

Hi all, I have a question about appearance in search results. When I google my own keywords/articles, often the meta description that shows on google is not the one I wrote on my post (I have written a meta description), nor the first few sentences of my article, Why? Is it auto-generated? What can I do to fix this? Thanx!

  • Ben Adler: Google often replaces the meta description if it thinks it can create a better one. I perzonally never write meta descriptions for this reason.
  • Hege Jacobsen: Ben Adler Right thanks. I thought they only did that if there was no meta description in the publication. Annoying, as I don`t agree that theirs is better! No way to override?
  • Ben Adler: Hege Jacobsen as far as I know, there`s no way to force it unfortunately
  • Hege Jacobsen: Ok, thank you
  • Abdallah Oubaki: I don`t think it can be fixed. Google take what it needs from your content to create a new one depending on the query. The Meta description has become less important, but the meta title is still important
  • Hege Jacobsen: Abdallah Oubaki ok thanks!
