How can I stop appearing in Google search?

Hi Guys. Thanks for accepting me into the group. When a person does a search for "po box 470 archerfield bc qld 4108" my debt recovery website is the top result. This is not my address! We are actually 161.2 km from Archerfield. Unfortunately, a grubby debt collection company sends out hundreds of letters with this address as their return address. This means that we get heaps of calls and emails from irate people who just Google the address without looking at our ACTUAL address. This not only takes up a lot of my time, but also creates a bad UX.My Question How can I stop appearing in Google for the search "po box 470 archerfield bc qld 4108"?

  • Brenda Michelin: This is very interesting.
  • Miller Sockhill: For example, is there an equivalent to disavow a keyword?
  • E Dieter Martin: How about a lawyer solution? A cease and desist letter might help. Use the NAP hunter plugin to find the sites using your address.
  • Miller Sockhill: It is their address though. But for some reason we show up first on Google.
  • Michael Stricker: Check GMB, Search for that address in Maps. Align all NAP on major data providers and Directories. Apply address Schema onsite. Search site for
Bogus address or a citation even among UGC.
  • Miller Sockhill: Michael Stricker thank you so much for your answer.

    GMB has my correct address

I do not show up anywhere in Maps - it goes to a page on Archerfield - no business show up.

I have very good citations on data providers and Directories. Checked and it all states my address.

I have done extensive searches for po box 470 archerfield bc qld 4108 and its variations - there is nothing which states my business name.

I will add some business address schema, great idea thank you.
  • Allison Jay: That address won`t be in maps, it`s a PO Box. I can`t find anything for that address either. Curious..... Schema might be the go.
  • Miller Sockhill: Allison Jay Thank you. It is weird.
  • Miller Sockhill: "archerfield" site:https://debtrecoveryqld.com.au

Nothing in my site includes the work Archerfield either. It has been like this for over six (6) months, so not just a weird anomaly.
  • Allison Jay: I`ve just tried that same search, tried your phone number in brackets, your address in brackets, your url. Tried doing a citation check with free tools I can use atm, nothing???
  • Allison Jay: Maybe try the same checks on the business that actually owns this address?
  • Miller Sockhill: Allison Jay It`s a company called Lion Finance. Nothing on their website has that address, but a person who called me opened the envelope and told me. It`s bizarre.
  • Michael Stricker: Check your Domain Name Registration, Hosting, DNS and cache provider... sometimes account information for owner/tech/finance can be retained by Google.
  • Miller Sockhill: Thanks Michael Stricker I will tonight when I go home. Pretty sure I`ve never used this address before though. I`ve never even been to Archerfield. Worth a shot though. Thanks again.
  • Richard Hearne: This is a real head scratcher. Your domain is quite generic - have you owned it for long, and could this domain have been used prior to your ownership?
  • Miller Sockhill: Hi Richard Hearne, thank you for your help. I owned it first, and I have had it for about 3 years. It is a head scratcher! I have added some address schema over the weekend, so I`ll see if this drops off.
  • George G.: maybe get a bit out of the box here? idk your situation, but you could actually create a page and try to rank this page for this address and on it explain the situation and include the phone number of the company they want to actually call.

if this will create some legal issues, you can go that same thing with parasites. create 3-4-5 web20 or posts on medium etc and rank them for this address and put the actual information of the real company they need to call.

thats the only thing i can think of.
  • Miller Sockhill: Thanks George G. I had thought about that, but I am not sure if that is the way to go. I don`t want to actually start ranking for that search query, I think that might cause some confusion, both in the real world and the cyber world. Thank you for your help though.
  • George G.: As i mentioned, you can rank for it with parasites or web20 profiles that are not connected to you in any way.
  • Miller Sockhill: George G. Ok, I understand now. Various web 2.0 properties, to send the searcher to rather than my website. Ok, I`ll have a look tonight. Thanks mate.
