Google Maps for Business

Hi, quick question in regards to Google maps. I have been confused recently and can`t get my head round how it works.

When I make a search for a local town named `Frome`, why is it that certain businesses show up when I`m zoomed out - yet the site I am optimising locally doesn`t show, until I zoom all the way in? Here`s an example:

We are located next to Lilley`s Cider Barn, seems as if they show up when we zoom out a lot - their title stands out and they are colored Orange. However we aren`t - why is this?
