Acronyms in Content

Is there a way to make sure that when I use (less popular) acronyms on my site that Google will recognize those few letters as the full meaning? For example, I may have a page about "something something blah blah" but after the first use I refer to it just as "SSBB". I am afraid that if I use "SSBB" too much then my page might be less relevant to a search that includes "something something blah blah". How can I make sure that Google knows that "SSBB"="Something Something Blah Blah", every time I use it.

I am aware of the tag, will this solve my problem or am I better off NOT using the acronym at all if I don`t expect people to use the acronym in searches?

  • Julie Hume: Do the same thing that you would to be sure that your readers understand the link between acronym and full version. ; At first use, follow your phrase with the acronym in brackets. Something Something Blah Blah Blah (SSBBB). ; Also use both versions in meta title, page title and h1 if possible without shoehorning it in there.
