Does the country where you register your domain impact your SEO?

Does the country where you register your domain impact your SEO? If a .com page is registered in Africa, would it rank lower compared to a .com page registered in the EU to a US Googler?

  • Michael Martinez: It should not. There might be a document classifier used by the Web Spam teams to flag domains from countries that have a high proportion of spam, but it`s my understanding they would only flag such domains for review. And that`s based on a comment from maybe 10-12 years ago. They may do things very differently now.

  • Jenni Brown: No. And if you have domain privacy it won`t be known anyway.

  • Mithun Dutta: If you have country specific domains then that works better as per my knowledge, but yes in this case you need to do little bit more effort.
