Deleting Google Places listing

Good morning everyone, question: I work for an e-commerce company. We do not have a physical location, but I guess we had a Google Places listing that my supervisor wants to delete. Would it hurt rankings if a strictly e-commerce site deleted their Google Places listing?

Randy Milanovic: Google places (anything local) impacts local search. Register a Brand page instead. As an online business without a physical store, you don`t qualify for a local business account.
