Dumb SEO Questions

(Entry was posted by John Pitcher on this post in the Dumb SEO Questions community on Facebook, 02/19/2016).

Creating directory links with anchor text.

A customer has a domain name xyz but throughout the website they refer to themselves as company name abc. In the footer, they have a line saying that abc is a trading name of xyz.

When they create links to the site (eg directory links), should they use anchor text (if anchor text is required) of abc (company name) or xyz (domain name)?

Will this discrepancy between the company name and domain name cause any problems??

  • Jai Prakash: I think no issue in name because you mention in footer.
  • Pravin K Gupta: I think about this , ABC is a Trademark !
