  Kevin Carney: Michael Martinez This is my thought too. There is a difference between being a ranking signal, and being a strong ranking signal. I`m reminded of the https "hysteria" of a few years ago. Yes it matters, yes it`s easy to do, yes you should do it. And then, you should get back to what matters most, which is content and links.

  Ammon Johns: Adam J. Humphreys stop writing boring text? I have entire books that contain nothing but text, and not only do I reread them fairly regularly, I even paid for the content *and* recommend them to others. Text can be a highly effective media.

  Joshua McAdams: It`s a background image. Not the focus. It just creates atmosphere. The focus should be on the text, button, etc

  Adam J. Humphreys: Joshua most look bad if not done right. Photographs in particular of people look bad when the quality is dropped a lot.

  Joshua McAdams: The quality isn`t an issue if it`s stylized. What`s more, it`s not a person. It`s only supposed to give the IMPRESSION of downtown Charlottesville. The blue color is used by the local sports ball team.

  Adam J. Humphreys: Joshua it’s not a goofy point clients have various dynamic needs and want to put images on their site that they want to see. They don’t always want to crush them to the point it’s grainy. I see cases where it works like yours but ya in most cases Google’s gotten ridiculous.

  Joshua McAdams: Take it seriously. They are telling you it`s important and they are giving you the exact algorithm to target. Couldn`t be an easier win. I get 100 on mobile with Oxygen and a few select themes. Check my personal wall, I`ve been posting my speed tests with different builds for about it for a month.

  Joshua McAdams: It`s a full-site builder for Wordpress. It takes over the theme concept and runs everything through its own proprietary system, so there is no "theme" per se. It`s the best builder available if you are doing anything with WooCommerce or building sites that have a lot of functionality plugins like BuddyPress, etc.
