Again, should I use 301 or cannonical tag?

A bunch of pages on my site belong to a different site of mine. Content creator error in the past to duplicate blog post in an effort to gain more traffic...Should I redirect (301) them to the relevant site instead of using a cannonical tag? They do have some trafficI am considering deleting them and using a 301...

Michael Martinez: I would redirect the URLs just to be on the safe side. But simply deleting them may be okay.It`s possible you`ll continue to see any URLs that were indexed by the search engines in their results for a long time. That is why I recommend redirects.
Perry Bernard: Is the content relevant for the siteâ€™s users? If so, use the canonical. Otherwise delete and 301.
