Avoiding the duplicate content issue

Hi guys, I`d like to start hosting paid press releases on our website to get some extra revenue but I`m not sure about the best way to avoid the duplicate content issue, should I use no follow or rel=canonical to the original source of content? Also, I would appreciate your advice about the length, tag etc.
