A web designer asked me why we cannot / dont put text in the header, for example a sentence with the purpose of the website above the main menu : any answers ?
Andy Wigglesworth: There isn`t reason other than it might look odd!, just like you normally wouldn`t see the front page of a newspaper with the columns above the heading. Suppose it really depends on the design!
John Vertigo: So no SEO problem to repeat a slogan on all pages?
Jef Van Gool: John Vertigo No problem. Could we see how it looks?
Andy Wigglesworth: If it`s just a slogan, absolutely no problem in my opinion. I thought you were meaning lots of text heh.
Kim Krause Berg: The practice of placing a text tagline beneath a logo image ended after nearly 20 years because of mobile design and CMS templates that didn`t provide a place for them. They were an easy way to insert a keyword or keyphrase, and the brand name, in text, at the top, along with a cleverly written value proposition. The SEO and UX benefits were nice. Users could understand the site`s purpose in seconds and get validation they were delivered the correct page for their search query.
