So, keyword density. How much of a thing is it these days?On the one hand my wordpress plugin is always telling me I need my primary keyword in there more. But I`ve heard that as long as it`s in the H1, title, url etc. and appears naturally here and there, then its no biggie.I`ve written a fair few long form blogs that are rather sparse on the primary keyword. But it kinda makes sense. So hopefully density isn`t screwing my SEO.

  • Ash Nallawalla: If you measure keyword density as a percentage, then it is wrong, regardless of your WP plugin. If you use keywords in a natural way and no more than necessary, then you are doing the right thing. If you don`t use keywords, then the page will not be found for those missing keywords, but will be found for any words used

  • Adam J. Humphreys: I said this a decade ago and I’ll say this today. Google is full of academics and they expect one to write somewhat thesis style in that the title is relevant with the intent of search keyword and the initial content below the header/title represents accuracy to articulate what it will be solving for. While google can parse down to any segment of a page below each header should follow this thought process.

  • Ben Adler: It`s helpful to include the keyword I think but not necessary for ranking. This is my personal opinion after I`ve analyzed a bunch of top ranking pages and discovered the keyword they ranked for didnt appear a where on the page.

  • Ash Nallawalla: Ben Adler Excellent point. Nowadays (for the benefit of the OP) we look at entities, not specific keywords in isolation. If I searched "The Big Apple", there`s a good chance that some New York pages will come up (I don`t mean on page 1) with no mention of that word. Google factors in such synonyms into a collective entity.

  • Jk Dove: So what you are looking into is and isn`t what you are looking into. While the term "keyword density" technically DOES factor in, it is NOT intrinsically a factor. What you want to explore is TF-IDF. (Term Frequency-Inverse Document Frequency). As a front line weapon in your competitive conquest campaigns (that`s what I call them because anything less is just uncivilized), it will assist you if you know what you`re doing with it and utilizing software that you implicitly trust to provide a reliable algorithm.

  • Perry Bernard: Group expertJk Dove i believe that’s just overthinking the whole thing entirely. I suggest: write about the topic, be faithful to the topic, answer actual queries about the topic. Done.

  • Ubaid Ullah: It is nothinggggggg. Just answer the query of users and you are good to go. Google is smart enough to understand meaning of your content
