SEO for a multi-service website

SEO for a multi-service website... Hey everyone, question about doing SEO for a site that has multiple services. So I am under the impression that the homepage is the most important page (which makes sense) And I have read most people say that is where your main/most important keyword should be. Which is fine for a site that is based around one topic. How about if it is a photography site where you are trying to rank for various services such as wedding photography, event photography, motorsport photography etc? I have it currently listing a brief description of all the services on the homepage, which link out to more in-depth pages regarding those services, along with the menu having a services dropdown linking to them also. Would it be better to pick the most important service and expand on it on the homepage, and then simply keep the other services in the menu without mentioning them too much/at all on the homepage? I know it will also partially depend on user experience/intent but I am just a little confused about the best way to go about this. Hopefully that made sense! I appreciate any help/advice. Thanks!

  • Gregor Grigorian: Make separate pages for the other services like photography.com/wedding-services or photography.com/event-photography, put them in your Navigation Link, most important to least important.
  • Steve Gerencser: What he said. For several of my clients we rank the home page for their best / highest profit service and then work to get each main service page to rank. It takes time but can be done.
  • Kyle Arnold: Thanks so much guys for the help
