Am I right to suspect you are under the assumption that doing that you'd preserve your page rank? Because nofollow links do dissipate PR since 2-3 years now, the time of "PageRank sculpting" is over.

Furthermore, also the "sends a positive signal to bots" thing is a strong assumption. There might be some truth, but I don't thing it's as simple as that.

My suggestion is not to bother too much whether you are passing "link juice" or not. Does your link help your users? Fine. If so, why not "follow-ing" it? And if you'd not endorse it (nofollow), would you really provide it to your visitors?

  • Kumar Neeraj Kayastha: Hi +Hasan Zahid, SEOs should be clear of 2 things. 1. Authority and Originality of content of a page.
    2. Good position of webpage on SERP.
Now that the 2 things are intermixed as you have sure read that if searchers clicks on lower position page, stay there and interact with the contents (bookmarks, comment or social shares etc.) the page will better its positions. So the content, its relevance and reference links build the usability and authority. These activities is caught by bots and affect SEO results. So juice passing is not the factor to be much worried about. Try to welcome the visitors and entertain them on the page.
*If nofollow links would have no relevance for bots, they would have been dropped from link checker tools, actually WMT also take into acount incoming links from all sorts of sites like Facebook, Pinterest, LinkedIn pulse as well as internal links. Actually i never put such outbound links which are accessible only for signed in visitors.*
