Stephen McConville: 100%, easier to get (generally) which means you can get more of them. Easy wins
Vedra Kex: When traffic is small but relevant and quality that’s better than high volumes but irrelevant traffic.
Weldon Stanford II: It depends on what you are selling and the profit of one visitor.
Ian Mathieu: Absolutely. I own an event rental company. “Carnival game rentals + my city†gets 20 searches a month, but those customers may end up spending a couple thousand. Easy money why not take it.
Michael Martinez: If you`re looking at monthly search volume data then you`re only looking at Google. Some of the sites we manage get substantially more traffic from other search engines than from Google.
Also, you can stimulate new interest in low-volume queries - and you can promote that content via other channels including social media and intra-site (or intra-portfolio) advertising.
If you can create useful, informative content that helps other people you should. Don`t make the decision on the basis of "keyword volume". That`s like trying to enjoy a beautiful view of the world by wearing blinders.
Ross Raffin: Michael Martinez What are some kpi you have when choosing keywords?
Michael Martinez: Ross Raffin I stopped using numbers years ago. We look at recent search trends, Google predictions ("auto suggestion"), and other search engines` similar recommendations. We also cross-pollinate between busy Websites` query referral data - where we take low-performing queries in site A`s report and use them to create content on site B if we feel that site would be a better match for the query.
Dennis Dubner: I get 8, 000 monthly traffic for keyword with zero search volume according to Keyword Planner, Ahrefs, SEMrush. So my answer is YES, you should if this Keyword is good for your business.
