Travis Bailey: It`s generally a great thing. It`s pretty good just to get a mention in most cases. Though an agency I worked for (quite a while ago, at least the NDA is up) had a reputation management client (actual scumball org that actually did dirty things) whom had run afoul of an investigative reporter. We could momentarily bury the dirty deeds, then the reporter would refresh their old content or write a new piece that linked to their older pieces.
*BOOM* Right back to square one! None of us on the front line were sad about it. We hated the client as well. But it goes to show that one determined journalist from a legit source can pave over astroturf with a link or two.
If you, or the client, are doing good stuff a link is likely more than good.
