Earlier +Barry Schwartz​​ reported how Expedia started using emoji in title tags to help influence click-through rates. http://mz.cm/1c0MKpx

How far will marketers take this? In this experiment, I was able to insert  emoji into search results within minutes, easily fabricating "starred" results.

To me, this is no different than rich snippet spam that Google has already cracked down on, and I doubt we`ll see it allowed in results for long.
