I overdo SEO tasks on a regular basis

I find I overdo SEO tasks on a regular basis because:
I care too much about the client`s business as if it were my own businessI enjoy learning/experimenting best ways to perform SEO tasksI don`t trust some colleagues to do as good of a job as meMost of our SEO campaigns have a set amount of hours we`re expected to perform each month
Anyone else feel this way or work in a similar environment
Any critical advice is welcome, thanks.

YOUR ANSWERS

  • Jim Munro: You can trap yourself in an endless loop of stats and benchmarking because it is comfortable and secure. Consider that you might be more valuable scoping out future gains and potential avenues rather than measuring and comparing where you were yesterday.
  • Stockbridge Truslow: You can ALWAYS do more for a client. Your job is to make enough money to do enough work to get them an ROI so they can continue to invest in your services (and maybe increase it down the road). Your job isn`t to give perfect results - it`s just to deliver results that provide value to their investment.
