How to get google/bing to ignore the querystring of a url?

I have an SEO question.  In this url
homes.com/property/1810-1st-st-n-jacksonville-beach-fl-32250/id-200004989163/  
I`m assuming the developer is using the final parameter for internal use and it is not relevant to the searching user.
So 2 questions:
How to get google/bing to ignore the last parameter and secondly, should it be part of the canonical?
