Category pages are not indexed

Hi, If none of my tags or category pages are indexed in Google (some after years), can I simply delete all the tags (most only go with 1 or 2 posts) and the categories that don`t get much use?

Jim Munro: Hi Vicky, would you like to share your url so we can have a deeper look?

Vicky: ok thanks. it`s tabletsforartist.com. I no-index, followed the taxonomy pages as of a couple days ago, also had made them into excerpts slightly before that, and wrote some descriptions for categories, which got rid of the duplicate content warning in ...Lihat Selengkapnya

Jim Munro: I could only find the plural - tabletsforartists.com registered in DNS. Is that one yours?
Tablets for Artists | Find the best drawing tablet

Vicky: yes sorry, typo!

Micah Fisher-Kirshner: Most likely, yes. You can delete them and have it become 404.

Vicky: Thanks or I could do a redirect I guess or maybe it won`t matter if they are not indexed anyway but that`s just Google, I didn`t check other SEs.

Micah Fisher-Kirshner: Redirect only if the content is fairly similar, otherwise Google won`t value (in terms of backlinks) the redirect.
