Accurately check any (competitor) website traffic

Hi , I was wondering if you can tell me which website(s) can be used to accurately check any(competitor) website traffic but in terms of visitor`s country.I have tried Alexa , Semrush and Similarweb but for example on Alexa and Sim.W. it said that website has 10-15% US traffic , and on Semrush it`s 50%. And that`s not the only case , it happened many times. I have been searching about this online , but couldn`t find anything. What do you guys use to check that?

  • Alan Bleiweiss: No public tool resource is ever truly accurate all of the time. They can give you a basic idea, however they can be wildly off. Having said that, SEMRush allows you to check Google traffic and visibility by country, so you can get a very rough, shot in the dark idea as to overall traffic, though it`s only for Google traffic.
  • Jim Munro: You cannot use Alexa`s reports comparatively because Alexa has only users of the Alexa toolbar to draw data from. Similarweb is also sourced from a small number of users, reported to be about 5000. I`d regard SEMrush`s data to be more likely to be statistically relevant because of their size. (I should add the disclaimer that SEMrush provides a guru subscription to some of the Panelists on the Dumb SEO Questions panel).
  • Steve Wiideman: Compete.com, Hitwise?
  • Sunny K. Ujjawal: Suite.searchmetrics.com and similarweb.com
  • Micah Fisher-Kirshner: What I should note (beyond my previous comments) is that competitive intel are great for /directional/ impact. So, if you have multiple tools and they all point that a company shot up, that`s what I have found to be the most valuable than trying to get the exact numbers. Then again, there`s always the Uber approach vis-a-via Unroll.me ....
