Tom Gooden: Google`s proprietary ranking algorithm.
Richard Hearne: It used to be a reasonable indicator of which pages Google believed held more authority. Not so sure that still holds these days. I`d use it only for very rough indication of # pages indexed, and also spot checking individual URLs or folders.
