Sal Isme: No, you should not and I’m not sure what you mean by inactive, do you mean broken links? You can ask those linking to you to update the link. If you know little about spotting spammy backlinks, they should really be left alone. If you’ve been buying links and are worried you may be in breach of Google’s guidelines it’s best to contact a professional, I would ask 3 different SEO consultants to have a look and advise whether it’s an issue, they won’t work for free but should let you know if it’s an issue. I say three because not everyone is a professional SEO with your best interests at heart.
