Should I convince the client to migrate over to wordpress

Hello to all! Later this week I meet with my first SEO client, a small architecture firm. They`ve done zero SEO, currently ranking low for 5 non-relative KWs . A couple questions. 1)They have a weebly site, should I convince them to migrate over to wordpress from the start? 2)What should I charge for the following? -Search console/Analytics implementation -Conversion tracking -KW research -Rank tracking -Site audit -Local citations -Google My Business optimization -Page/content creation -On-page KW optimization -Schema Markup -Interlinking / Siloing / External Linking About me: For the past two years, I`ve been working in-house with a content marketing team but never ventured into local or on-page SEO. I`ve learned a lot over the past month or so and feel confident I can do the basics above.

  • Gregor Grigorian: Yeah have them convert to wordpress 100%.
  • Alan Bleiweiss: Without an audit, making a decision as to what any site owner should or should not do is reckless, and potentially severely harmful to client budgets, especially sites run by small business owners who have very limited resources or time to expend.
  • Jacob Punton: I wouldn`t burst them over to Wordpress straight away, wait a couple of months then suggest it. That way the work can carry on longer. Don`t charge individually for your services, or the money you get from them each month will be different. Try do these things over a period of time with a budget they feel will suit them. With that being said, you can then do the services within that month that you feel meets there budget. BUT don`t forget to update them with monthly status updates with what you have done for them!
  • David Kutcher: Weebly sucks, but so can Wordpress. Just because you prefer it, and think it has some advantages, doesn`t always mean it`ll be the right solution for the client.
  • Gregor Grigorian: Weebly is easy to use, I`ll give it that. Even a monkeys uncle could use it...
  • Jeremy L. Knauff: Adam Gallegos, connect with me. I might have a cross promo opportunity with a few sites we manage.
  • Neil Cheesman: Without doing any type of audit how could you know exactly how to move the site over to Wordpress? categories, permalinks, tags etc... which plugin to use?
  • Steve Gerencser: Weebly sites can rank just as well as most sites. Especially when you are competing locally. You can rank and drive traffic to anything. I have a client on a .biz domain and we do great with it. Would we prefer the .com? Sure. Are we willing to spend 50 grand on It? Not really.
  • Gregor Grigorian: Yeah maybe it might be a good idea to start working with the major website builders hmmm but do they have FTP access?
  • Patty Mantaloons: I had weeblies once. 3 days of antibiotics and I was fine.
  • Laxman Rana: Yes.... You can do it all above basic steps after some learning on page seo and off page seo. Some advanced with that also.
  • Belinda Irvine: I`m interested if anybody has something to contribute on question 2.
  • William Atchison: can you do SEO with the site as is, is it broken?
