Duplicate content even maybe provide value

if this (see picture) is in the footer of a website that has over 5k pages would Google consider it duplicate content and penalize pages or supplementary content and not care or even maybe provide value.

  • Kyle Hawk: I would learn more on the side of Google probably wouldn't care. Google is pretty smart. There are a lot of sites out there that have a constant, or static, footer with information in them. Now as far as being beneficial for the page, most likely not since it is 1) not unique content, as it is present on every page and 2) It's not very rich in content itself. I'm not sure if it is true or not, but I've read a few articles referring to importance of content based on placement in the page, meaning that stuff in the footer is seen as less valuable as stuff above the fold. Could be false, but there is always that.

    In the end, I think you are fine. It is common practice to have a static footer. If Google penalized every site for having the same header and footer, that wouldn't make much sense. Stop overthinking it, bud :)
