Does the content below load more get indexed?

Re pagination/load more... - does the content below `load more` get indexed? Where it doesn`t get `displayed` in the cached version of a url, does that mean it isn`t indexed - or `not related`?

YOUR ANSWERS

Selected answers from the Dumb SEO Questions Facebook & G+ community.

  • Glenn Cooper: It`s probably indexed as the additional content is usually always there but its uncovered by javascript or other html5 scripts.
  • Dave Elliott: don`t even talk to me about pagination at the moment. Google can do one!
  • Michael Martinez: Fetch and render is supposed to show you what google "can" index. As a rule of thumb they suggest you assume anything loaded afterward is never seen by googlebot.
  • Rob Woods: Agreed, "usually" it`s not seen. There are work arounds but the way the vast majority of infinite scroll is implemented, Google can`t render it.
  • Hayk Saakian: Depends on how the load more is implemented. If you check the page source, and the additional content doesn`t show up in the source code to start with, then it won`t be indexed.

If your load more is implemented as a link to a page 2 then that page 2 could be indexed
