Backlinks from Subdomain?

I have a real estate website and i dont have regular content to add in blog. So can i make subdomain instead of having a blog with my  keyword and add one page content, build backlink and rank

Eg: my domain would be www dot realestatesite dot com  and i create subdomain dot residentialproject dot realestatesite dot com .  I add all content  related to residential project like how to buy guide, near by location and other things and i build links to this site and rank it.. later either i can redirect subdomain to my main site or interlink to not miss any leads generated.

Has anyone ever experimented such things recently to rank website.

  • Michael Cloke: You will get more Google love by using sub folder vs sub domain.
  • Heena Shah: Agree +Michael Cloke but site is built on html and I have no idea how to make subfolder there.. So thought to make subdoamin and install wordpress site there
  • Michael Cloke: Most hosting accounts allow a Wordpress easy install and you can specify the sub folder name when installing.
  • Heena Shah: you mean i can install WordPress on sub folder too.. As website is already hosted in .html ;
  • Michael Cloke: Yes. That's no problem. The only issue is making the design consistent from the website to the blog so it looks seamless
  • Heena Shah: Right.. but i guess will have to consider this point and have to trust if google like my site they shall give me rank :)

    main is i have different keyword like residential, luxury residential, commercial, loft,etc . If i make blog i may have to write long title and content.. so just got this in mind if i make subdomain will my task be easy or blog is only suggestion you feel. As article type content for all keyword may not be possible ;
  • On Page Assistant: My take on this is just build a page and provide all the information you think will add value to that page. There is no need to make a subdomain. Rather than having residentialproject dot realestatesite dot com, you can go with realestatesite dot com slash residential dash project. The latter is better understood than the former in terms of keyword usage. In response to you next query, you don't need to write a long title just to accommodate all the keywords you want to rank for. Remember that Google only displays up to 512px of your meta title and 923px of your description. What you need to do is to choose a keyword or two from your list and place the rest on the description without necessarily doing keyword stuffing and compromising how searchers read and interpret your meta data. While you can write for the search engines to make it easy for them to interpret what's on your page, you should also consider that users should always be your primary concern. The meta data you place on your website will most probably become the snippet Google and other search engines use to display in the SERPs so make sure they will entice searchers to click on them and look on the information on your site.
