David Ogletree: As far as just SEO it is not considered a copy. Ethically it is wrong but if will rank as new content.
Alan Bleiweiss: It`s called plagiarism if there is not significant, transformative additional content added. Like where the majority of content is unique newly added content. That`s what matters in this case most. For SEO, does Engadget have content in this person`s language? Or how about other sites they`re planning on stealing the content from? Note how I call it stealing? Yeah, because "copy and translate" is NOT a viable, legitimate reason to create a site. "Provide journalistic value through unique content on topics found around the web, and where copying portions of that other content is relevant to the new editorial content commentary" is valid under my previously described ratio considerations.
