Swedish characters in META tags

Hi, and as a new member, I just wanted to first say thanks so much for setting up this amazing resourceMy question is I am in the process of importing a lot of images to our new wordpress site and I am importing meta info (title, alt tags and descriptions) for the images too. Our site is a Swedish site so we have some special characters in our alphabet like ä å and ö. I have replaced these in the image filenames with standard characters (a and o) but I am wondering if it is possible to have these characters in the meta data? Be grateful for any advice.... thanks
