Should blog comments be left "On" or turned "Off"?

For SEO purposes...should blog comments be left "On" or turned "Off"? And, if left "On" is it better to have them all show up on the same page? Appreciate any feedback.

  • Alan Bleiweiss: Gary Illyes from Google said just yesterday at State of Search, that allowing moderated comments is better for engagement signals important to SEO. He was, of course, correct. Moderated is important though.
  • Michael Stricker: Moderate. Publish a user policy. Police the results. Seek good grammar and spelling, all evidence of quality. Make log-in required, or, use Oauth. Cite Name & City/State where possible as evidence that comments are genuine.
