Research on Titles and internal linking

Research on Titles and internal linking... for best SEO
Has anyone done any research on where EXACTLY to place keywords in Titles/H1s and whether to do exact-match for internal linking (ie as Wikipedia etc)?
ie... a 3-word key phrase - Green Widget Toggles
Titles
"Green Widget Toggles"
"Buy Green Widget Toggles"
"Little and Large Green Widget Toggles"
assuming wanting to sell "Green Widget Toggles"
