Negative SEO did not work in the past

Google spokesman wants you to believe negative seo did not work in the past.

Google was dragged kicking and screaming to do the right thing and has finally corrected an error made many years ago. It`s great that they finally owned up to their responsibilities but I do not know why they want to add insult to injury when saying that they do not know of a single case where toxic links worked to damage a site in the past. Legal reasons I guess.

If negative SEO did not work, why did Google have to make changes? New Penguin now works the same way that Bing has always worked.

William Rock: In my link ...I shared a possible NSEO Attack that would have worked does not work now and proof with the thousands of Junk Link in a SQL Injection Hack with links back to those backlinks ...I thought I would get nailed especially when the client site only had maybe 100 links vs. now thousands still there. I have not used a disavow file .. the attack was back in October 2015 /// fingers crossed NSEO did not hurt this site .. Everything in my link above goes through step by step of my progress .. R Law (Rankwell): It cant work both ways. IF you have a link penalty imposed for low quality backlinks THEN you have the possibility of negative SEO. I guess they just cant say that it was (is?) possible in a litigious society like ours
Jim Munro: I think that's it, +R Law ;, but they could have just stated the fundamentals of how the NEW Penguin works without adding the lie. It did nothing to augment the explanation and is unnecessarily hurtful to those affected.
