Mobile search ranking and desktop search ranking

Hey Guys, Why is there a huge difference in some sites mobile ranking and desktop search rankings ? One of the site I currently look after has Postion 12 on Mobile and 35 on Desktop

Nathan Veenstra: Because there are mobile results with different metrics than the desktop results. ðŸ˜‡ The mobile version could be faster than the desktop site, or the competitorsâ€™ mobile sites could be slower. Others can have less content on their mobile version, making them rank lower. Thereâ€™s not an easy answer Prajwal. Especially since we donâ€™t have the details. Just a question without url, keywords and even location (because google.nl is different from google.com) is not enough. ðŸ˜‰
